“WELCOME TO THE XXV INTERNATIONAL INFAD CONGRESS”

THE CURRENT WORLD: VALUES AND CHANGES. PSYCHOLOGY AND ITS ANSWERS

My dear friend and congress attendant. The program that we offer you is a reflection of your effort, support, enthusiasm and research that you bring to share with the other attendants.

For one more year, the International Association of Developmental and Educational Psychology of Childhood, Adolescence, Elderly and Disability (INFAD) celebrates the XXV International INFAD Congress (Silver Wedding anniversary of INFAD Congresses) from April 25th to May 2nd, 2018, with a very topical theme: “The current world: values and changes. Psychology and its answers”.

This year the Congress venue is the Instytute of Psychology, University of Wroclaw (ul. Dawida 1, 50-527 Wroclaw, Poland) and Fundacja Pro Scientia Publica (ul. Redycka 37, 51-169 Wroclaw, Poland).

INFAD carries out its activities, and disseminates them, through the organization of Seminars, Courses, Symposia, Congresses and other research or teaching activities, encouraging the development of relevant research. The main mean of promotion is the website (www.infad.eu) and the International Journal of Developmental and Educational Psychology (INFAD: Journal of Psychology).

The XXV International INFAD Congress is accredited as a forum in which we all have the opportunity to present our reflections, our contributions to psychological science from researches that have been thought, worked and elaborated with rigor and excellent professional qualification. In the congresses we can share with other colleagues and friends our knowledge and scientific conclusions of our research, enriching both ourselves and other people and providing solutions to our society. Our program reflects those concerns.

The XXV International INFAD Congress synthesizes a place where other researchers, from many of the Spanish, Polish, Italian, Portuguese and other foreign Universities, especially great researchers, bring us the work done, the new lines of research, the illusion, the effort and, above all, a lot of actuality and enthusiasm.

This congress thematic: “The current world: values and changes. Psychology and its answers” and the congress itself, is a place of meeting, reflection and scientific approach to the most worried issues nowadays in order to offer perspectives for the future.

The INFAD Congresses promote the approach and the relationship amongst the different professionals that participate in it.

The main objectives are:

– To bring together and gather Spanish and foreign specialists to reflect on the role of Psychology when facing the social difficulties that arise in the current world.

– To present the research carried out, or in progress, on the contributions of Positive Psychology in the field of social difficulties found in social, family and educational contexts, as well as the values in exchange.

– To start a deep reflection on the current concerns related to the whole psychological field. What our society asks us, and demand us when referring to interpersonal relationships, what self-awareness is emerging in the current conditions of socio-cultural development and either group, intergenerational, cross-cultural, technological, difficult or impoverishing interrelations, and doing all this from the field of Psychology, especially the Positive Psychology of life.

– To discuss the role of psychologists and their possible intervention in the face of the social difficulties of our days.

Both the cover of our program and the design of our poster represent that embrace of all the INFAD Congress’ attendants who for more than 30 years have been meeting in our congresses. To celebrate the 25 congresses means that illusion and that effort that we all demand and that we all support. The 25 INFAD congresses are born from that embrace represented at the bottom of the poster.

Since its creation, INFAD has held congresses in cities with important universities, in order to both make them known and highlight their scientific and cultural importance with the publication of our research. In concrete some cities where we have already held congresses before, since 1988, are: Cordoba, Salamanca, Alicante, Cáceres, León, Burgos, Seville, Santiago de Compostela, Oviedo, Cádiz, Teruel, Fuerteventura (Canary Islands), Bilbao, Santander, Pontevedra, Évora (Portugal), Turín (Italy), Zamora, Rome, Lisbon, Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Badajoz, Calamata (Greece), Sicily, Almería, etc. This year, INFAD Congress is celebrated at the Instytute of Psychology, University of Wroclaw and Fundacja Pro Scientia Publica (Poland).

From here, we want to thank all those who, from the Instytute of Psychology (University of Wroclaw) and Fundacja Pro Scientia Publica, have contributed and are still contributing. Our infinite sincere thanks. Without your support we would haven’t been able to celebrate this congress.

The program – that now my dear fiend you have in your hand – is the result of that effort and support, so that the INFAD Congresses are a success, as we hope and wish for this new one. It depends on all of us and we thank you all for either your face-to-face or on-line contributions, and also for your enthusiasm and effort.
