The Escola Superior de Saúde Ribeiro Sanches , and especially its Director Dr. Paulo Sargento , PhD, along with other public and private institutions, and INFAD Association (International Association of Psychology and Education of Children, Youth, Elderly and Disability) aware the need to address current scientific and professional challenges of generational changes, congratulate the celebration of the XIII International Congress of Psycho-gerontology Transtronterizo: positive Psychology and welfare. Family in the elderly.
Congress’s main objective is to become a space for reflection and debate on the major contributions of psychology, especially of Positive Psychology to the concept of welfare of the elderly and their impact on quality of life in stages over advanced the life process, both conceptually and empirically.
Other objectives of the Congress is to promote the development of professional scientific activities, and create a forum for interdisciplinary exchange, promote the development of networks, promoting research, publicize new scientific developments, share professional experiences, training young specialists, recycle various areas of expertise, disseminate basic information society, better meet social demands focused on the study of the reality of life of the elderly.
This forum meeting is a firm for finding solutions to a social challenge that we must all commit ourselves it is necessary to achieve improved prevention measures bet, the involvement of older people in the social sphere, and also provide adequate resources to enable personal and social adjustment and a life with dignity.
To fulfill these purposes was launched and years a Congress Transborder Portugal has gone on to become international, celebrated on this occasion the thirteenth of conferences organized for this purpose. It aims to him bringing those scientists, both academic and professional, who are interested in studying the vital development of fundamentally human beings in advanced stages of life, all from different areas of psychology, geriatrics, medicine, sociology and related sciences.
The XIII International Congress of Psycho-gerontology Transtronterizo: Positive Psychology and welfare. Family in mayoresse people held at the Escola Superior de Saúde Ribeiro Sancheslos from 16 to 18 November 2017.
During those three days were also present lectures and master numerous contributions they are structured work:

* Thematic Sessions
* Communications (oral and poster)
The thematic areas are included in the program cover the main issues today are of concern and study such as contributions of neuroscience in the study of the elderly, cognitive impairment in the elderly, the role of the family in advanced stages of life, Psychological Intervention with older, good practices and promoting quality of life in the elderly, dignity and identity of greater, volunteering in older, strategies for coping with loneliness in the elderly , centers and residential alternatives for the Elderly: the role of professionals and the voice of their representatives, among others. We will also discuss innovative experiences in health and in this sense we will address the issue of adherence to treatment and chronicity, presenting the action plan that the matter has been launched from the A1 group EIPAHA research, which integrates our INFAD association. Neither could be left out of this important scientific space addressing new technologies or the promotion of social cooperatives, among others.
It will focus our efforts and invite you to participate.
For further enhancement, meaning, knowledge and significance of the efforts of all professionals attending or enrolled, the conferences, symposia, communications, and contributions that meet the required scientific requirements, be published at scientific paper in the journal “International Journal of Developmental and Educational Psychology INFAD: Journal of Psychology ” .
